One day I found myself on this planed with these humans who are kind of messy and lonely but generally good hearted... or perhaps it is only this one person, whom I spooked by copying their face, who is like that.Either way... I was intruiged and decided to stick around and learn about this place.

A shapeshifter, born into a Society that puts self-expression and creativity on a pedestal and shuns mere copycats. It is a lot to live up to. More so when said young shapeshifter could not see what others saw - his mind blank where others had visions and imagination. He was broken, only ever managing to copy another.And so his kin only assumed the worst of him, after all only criminals copy someone elses appeariance. What possibly could he do to convince them otherwise?He found himself people who did not mind his oddities. He was not lonely, had a place he belonged to, people he trusted. And one day they came to him with a task. A cry for help. Only one with his talents could rescue a relic from falling into the wrong hands. He had no reason to doubt them. With his abilities he managed to infiltrate the sacred temple of his people. And his powers indeed were beneficial.Only his kin with pure intent could reach the artifact. And his naive self would manage to free the artifact - only for so called friends to take it for themself. Thieves that built up trust with him, just to use his naivity and desperation for friends. Though before they could steal it, the guards came and they would make a run. Dropping and shattering the artifact.In the chaos that ensued, the betrayed shapeshifter made a run for it. Only at safety did he take note that shards of the artifact had ended up with him. Glowing with energy. But he could not return and give them back, noone would understand... he ended up as what everyone imagined him as: a criminal. So his only solution was to make a run for it. Leave his kin, to a place he would not be recognized.
